Vintage Cryptomeria Rodent Rat Mouse Otagiri made in Japan in the style of H+F/Hans Bolling/Kay Bojesen
This darling vintage 1960s wooden rodent figurine is in the style of Danish Modern designers Hans Bolling or Kay Bojesen who were famous for taking the animal forms to their simplest while retaining the sprit. While not Danish, this little rodent has that essential Danish "Hygee" or Coziness. The wood is Cryptomeria or Japanese Cedar as opposed to the traditional teak and is stamped Japan and what I believe to be the Otagiri mark. The ears, tail, and teeth are made of dyed leather.
